3/21/2023 0 Comments Ebay total manager review![]() My manager was expecting me to become a manager within a week but nobody gave me the note instruction. I learnt a lot more than in other workplaces however there was some definite intimidation from my manager at the time that I was unable to deal with & this constant work under pressure that i could not handle. It was extremely hard to combine the 2 because of constant technical issues that nobody knew how to fix, not even the Tech specialist. At the time i was working there, there were 9 metrics and 1 was individual work & another one was collective work. I wanted to do everything by myself and did not understand the concept of working as a team at the time. ![]() I don't forget this amazing team spirit that took me too long to understand. I was an agent who wanted to work with a foreign language rather than my native language so after working 3 years there, they accepted to put me in a different team but it was really hard to change. ![]() I worked for Ebay for almost 7 years and I got sick because of too much stress. Targets are always changing, so you never really feel like you are getting somewhere as they will change it and demand more when you get closer to it. People and most of management team are good people, genuine and work hard, but there is almost always a period of the day where nobody seems to be around. Website always seems to have problems with incorrect links, options not working which should be, this is always waved off when trying to get it looked at. Yet you are expected to keep on top of all the changes at all times, despite the poor communication. Policies always changing, sometimes daly, sometimes not even announced and you only find out when a call comes through about it. Hard to get hold of a team lead or manager in some cases, and it's really drummed into you that you shouldn't be escalating and they also make that process overly complicated. Policies are very vague, open to interpretation which leaves leeway for arugmentative customers. The work varies a lot, some days are very busy with calls constantly coming through, no breaks between them, very stressful as most customers are angry or annoyed at something ebay has done. I worked at ebay for a little over 2 years. Also, please note that if you have any issues with any of the trainers, the coach, the team lead, or manager, they are all friends and will protect each other - more. ![]() The failure of passing is equal to be reported to HR where there is a possibility to be let go because you are not the right fit for this company. ![]() It is mandatory to pass and you have two attempts. They don’t tell you until you don’t start in the company. Please note that at the end of any topic covered, while you are in the training, there is a test and needs to be passed with the 80% of the score. Furthermore, if the trainers cap on that you don’t understand a topic covered become often impatient and rude with you. The training is all theory based and all explained very fast, you cannot ask questions because the time is short for big explanation, You need to learn, in a short time, fast as you can, all the theory otherwise you are considered, from the trainers perspective as a person that slow down the class and ready to be reported. Personally I found all of this very unmethodical, meaningless and bumbling, like a pawn in a chess game that is moved from one side to another constantly without a result. Then, afterwards, you will be sent again to the training for the last topic, and when, this last one, is totally covered, you will be again with the mentors. It needs to be considered that after to have covered topics about selling and buying, it stops for one week to introduce you to the mentors and do side by side/shadowing, by zoom, with them. The training is very long and can takes up two month and half. ![]()
